Here we can see the same mini next to a converted GW Chaos Marauder. |
And another Bug Warrior standing next to a converted Old Glory Ghost Miniatures orc. |
Another Bug Warrior build next to our friendly half-giant! |

SW1 Bug Warriors Full Preview
Well, after languishing in U.S. Customs limbo for a week or so, we got the greens in and turned them over! So far we have masters, and production will soon follow! This code is now called SW1 Bug Warriors, as I feel its a more appropriate title for the figures. The "SW" stands for Savage Wastes, and we'll be releasing more fantasy figures in this line--all denizens of a blasted, post-apocalyptic fantasy world called the Cynder.
Anyway, here are some unpainted shots of the 28mm Bug Warriors!
Here at left you can see the two bug warriors and their component parts. The pack will contain 14 total pieces.
We'll offer more shots of the figures coming up this weekend, including some painted views and a scale comparison with a popular fantasy line.
Thanks for looking!

Here's a closer look at the first of the 2 Bug Warriors. He's got arm options for a spear, throwing chakram, crystal sword, club, and closed fist. |
Bug Warrior 2 includes a battle harness, bow arm, spear, bone sword, and open hand. He also gets a quiver full of arrows. |
Here they are assembled and ready for basing. |

Preview: Mantis-Men!
I've always loved bug-guys, and our first offering will be 28mm Mantis-Men suitable for use with any fantasy or sci-fi RPG or skirmish game. Bob Naismith has created 2 distinct bodies, 2 heads, 9 arms, and a quiver for the bow arm (not pictured in these preview shots). The second body will include a battle harness where modelers can attach the quiver and any other accessories they may want to add themselves.
Take a look at the first preview shots, then see below for more details.
All arms will be cast with a nice tab so that they can be easily plugged into the body.
Here you can see the individual parts of the first Mantis-Man warrior. One of those spear arms was turned into a throwing disc in the final product.
Also not pictured is the new bow arm and quiver.
Now I am keen selling a two-pack including all of the components (2 distinct bodies, 2 distinct heads, 9 arms, and the quiver). We'll likely cast it up with all the right arms on one tab and all the left on the other, except for the bow and quiver, which will go on their own small tab. The two heads would also get a tab of their own.
Since we're in the early stages of planning, I'd like to ask folks how they might want to buy singles. Would prefer a body, 1 head, and all 9 arms for your single pack, or some other combination? I will have better information on prices once I get the masters made up and figure out what we can sneak into a production mold, space-wise.
In the meantime, write me at aegisfigures@gmail.com and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Welcome to Aegis!
Aegis Figures enters the fray!
Aegis will provide me a vehicle to produce niche miniature projects that I am passionate about. Aegis will work on a "reverse ransom" production model. I'll be producing and selling miniatures I really want to see done, and folks who are interested can purchase those figures directly through me via PayPal or money order, and this will help me recoup my costs and allow me to produce more figures for the Aegis label.
The primary goal of Aegis is to simply recover sculpting and production costs so that I can recycle those monies back into producing more cool figures. In keeping with the "guerrilla" style of the Aegis project, there is no online store attached to this site. Each post on a completed miniature will contain all of the information you need to purchase the figure. Purchases can be made through PayPal or via Money Order through the mail. At this point I don't have plans to sell to shops, but individual shop owners can contact me via e-mail and we can discuss our options.
In the next few weeks I hope to post up our first offerings for the Aegis line. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and enthusiasm!
